Hong has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years, an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for over 7 years, and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for almost 3 years. Most of her career has been centered around Cardiovascular ICU, but she also has experience with Pain Management, Psychiatry, Oncology, Emergency Room, and Interventional Radiology. Hong is passionate about helping others and has a constant appetite for learning, teaching, education, critical thinking, and mentoring other nurses and healthcare professionals. Throughout her career, Hong has been recognized often by her peers and supervisors because of her skills, dedication, and ethics. She is licensed by the DEA to prescribe medication, has been on the Rapid Response/Code Blue Team, a Charge Nurse, Chairman of the Quality Council, and awarded Employee of the Month/Year many times.

Hong’s proficient with training on lifesaving equipment including external pacers, pacemakers, ICDs, IAPB, Impella, CRRT, LVAD, VA-ECMO and VV-ECMO. 


With so much of her experience being in an ICU setting, Hong is also very skilled with patient and family consultation and counseling in some of their most desperate and dire situations. Having loved ones that have to make life and death decisions can be very traumatic and Hong has always been there to comfort and inform.

For many years, Hong learned the importance of balancing the physical well-being of the patient with their mental health. This is where her interest in psychiatry was born.


Hong received her BSN from The University of Texas at Arlington, her Master of Science in Nursing Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Walden University, and her Post Graduate MS in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from National University.
